Giorgos Theofanous, the composer and lyricist with huge timeless successes, is celebrating his 35 years in Greek song, WITH his friends GIA TO PAIDI, in a big concert at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, on Friday, October 11, at 8:30 at night. All proceeds will be donated to the “Mazi Gia To Paidi” Association.
Conducted by Giorgos Theofanous on the piano, the composer’s great hits from his 35-year career in Greek singing will be presented, accompanied by a 14-member orchestra under the musical direction of Leonidas Tzitzou. The soloists who are participating (in alphabetical order) are Thanos Giuletzis – violin, Nikos Zoidakis – lyre and Manolis Karantinis – bouzouki.
More than 100 choristers will be on stage, from the choirs: children’s choir of the Municipality of Dionysos (director: Chrysoula Tsimouri), children’s choir of I. N. Agia Varvara Argyroupoli (director: Lora Petropoulou – Eleonora Zacharias), children’s choir Cantus Atenas (director: Dimitra Hanou), children’s choir Con Anima of the Ergani Association (director: Ioulia Tzanetoulakou).
The members of the choirs will present for the first time a new song, with the signature of Giorgos Theofanous in the music and Thanos Papanikolaou in the lyrics, inspired by phrases written by the children of the “Mazi Gia To Paidi” Association in their notes and drawings, dedicated to the children of the whole world.
